As the preferred Oberlo alternative, DSers has teamed up with Oberlo to launch a new data migration solution that enables Shopify eCommerce merchants to enjoy an improved dropshipping experience with DSers in a matter of minutes. After months of work on the migration integration, you can finally transfer all of your data in Oberlo to DSers with one-click processes. It’s officially verified by Oberlo and risk-free! The migration tool will be available to merchants on May 12, 2022.
Oberlo app sunset
Oberlo is a Shopify dropshipping app that helps you locate popular products to sell in your store. It also allows you to import AliExpress products. Oberlo has presently been used by more than 6,500 merchants. Shopify, on the other hand, prioritizes doing what is best for merchants. As a result, Oberlo sunset heppened.
On June 15, 2022, the Oberlo app was retired and handed over to DSers. You won't be able to access your Oberlo account after this date, and the Oberlo app will be removed from your Shopify store. If you want to keep dropshipping, you may either use Oberlo's migration tool to automatically convert your past data to the DSers app.
With only a few clicks, you can migrate your history data from Oberlo to the DSers app, including orders, settings, goods, and list data, and continue dropshipping.
Oberlo partnered with DSers app
DSers, like Oberlo, is a dropshipping app that also works with AliExpress. It comes with everything you'll need to run and manage a dropshipping business.
Oberlo chose DSers as a partner because they have all of the tools you'll need to keep your business growing. DSers has a close relationship with AliExpress, facilitates bulk order fulfillment, and boasts over 150k merchants. Oberlo collaborated closely with the DSers team to ensure a smooth transition from Oberlo to DSers.
You can use the same key features in the DSers app as you do in Oberlo:
- Import AliExpress products into your Shopify store
- Place individual and bulk AliExpress orders
- Setup automations in your settings
Additional capabilities of the DSers app that you can utilize for your business are also available. Check out our DSers review for more information.
The DSers app offers both free and paid subscription options. Monthly and annual subscriptions are available for the DSers app. You will be transferred to the free DSers subscription plan if you opt to migrate to the DSers app. If you're on the Oberlo Boss plan, you'll be transferred to the free DSers subscription plan and given the option to upgrade to a premium DSers plan.
How to migrate from Oberlo to the DSers app?
The migration process can only be started by the Oberlo account admin; staff accounts are unable to do so. The migration time is determined by the amount of data in Oberlo, such as products and orders. Data migration might take minutes for small firms, but it can take hours for huge corporations.
Oberlo users can utilize the migration tool to rapidly, reliably, and securely migrate their data from Oberlo to DSers with only a few clicks.
Before going to the detailed process, you first log into your Oberlo account. The migration trigger is accessible via the banner on the Oberlo homepage. Click on MIGRATE TO DSERS NOW.
A pop-up box will appear, asking you to enable DSers data access. Then you click CONTINUE TO DSERS.
To ensure that your Oberlo data may be transferred to a DSers account, your Shopify store must install the DSers app. There are two options you may get here.
Option 1: Your Shopify store has not been installed DSers.
If you've not installed DSers in your Shopify account with the Oberlo app, you will be sent to the Shopify page to download and install DSers.
To install DSers, you can refer to the following steps:
Step 1 - Install the DSers app in Shopify.
Step 2 - Create a DSers account.
An existing DSers account can also be linked to the Shopify store. To avoid data conflicts between Oberlo and DSers, you'll need to set up data preferences in this scenario.
NOTE: If you logged into the incorrect account in this stage, you can switch to another DSers account by following these steps: Remove DSers > Go to Shopify and sign in to the DSers account you want to move to > Return to Oberlo to restart the migration.
After that, you can follow the steps I am mentioning in the Option 2 below.
Option 2: DSers is installed in your Oberlo-connected Shopify store.
In this case, we will assure that your Shopify store has installed both Oberlo and DSers. To migrate data from Oberlo to DSers, you should follow the process below:
Because the Shopify store has both Oberlo and DSers installed, data conflict may occur during migration. For example, a Shopify product may exist on both Oberlo and DSers. On Oberlo it is mapped to AliExpress supplier A, whilst on DSers it is assigned to AliExpress supplier B. In this case, you must inform DS users which one to maintain in the page below. For more information, you should take a look at the blog to learn how to resolve a data dispute by establishing data preferences.
Process of Migration
The Migration of Orders
Orders from your Oberlo account created during the last two months will be migrated by DSers. Contact DSers support to get a sync of your whole order history.
Oberlo does not directly sort orders into distinct groups, but DSes sorts orders into different tabs based on Shopify order status and AliExpress order status, as illustrated below.
The Migration of Products
DSers will migrate both their Oberlo Import List and Product during this operation. And if your data is large, this could take some time.
The product data in Oberlo Import List will be perfectly converted to DSers Import List during this stage.
Keep in mind that the number of products in your Import List may differ from what Oberlo displays for the following reasons:
1) DSers will migrate out-of-stock items, but will not move AliExpress items that are not found.
2) If you transfer your data to an existing DSers account, you may see both Oberlo and DSers products in the Import List, depending on your data reference settings. We will add tags to your products in the Import List such as From DSers or From Oberlo so you can simply filter products from the two applications.
This step will also include data migration for the Oberlo Products menu. Along with the Shopify store products, the product data, including variant mapping and alternate suppliers, will be moved to DSers.
Please keep in mind that in DSers, your variant mapping will be set to Standard mapping by default. Depending on your needs, you can switch to a different mapping method.
After transfer, you may discover that some products are not mapped. This is due to AliExpress products being taken down or not being discovered. By selecting the Unmapped Products option, you can eliminate this type of goods.
The Migration of Plan
DSers will generate a plan that corresponds to your current Oberlo subscription during the plan migration.
The Oberlo Pro plan is no longer available, but existing Pro users will be moved to the DSers Pro plan.
Once the migration is complete, DSers will default to the Custom Basic or Basic plan. You must manually activate the DSers Advanced/Pro plan after migrating to continue using advanced features and data use in the Oberlo Boss/Pro plan, as well as enjoy additional DSers Advanced/Pro capabilities.
Please see comparative plans for a thorough explanation of the differences between Oberlo and DSers plans.
You will be logged into the DSers dashboard after the Plan migration is completed.
Congratulations! You've successfully transitioned from Oberlo to DSers.
